Expositive text: Creatures clone selves in face of danger

The text is expositive, because it gives descriptions and information about de sand dollar larvae.
The text starts with a phrase. After this, the fact is exposed: self-copy of the sand dollar larvae when danger is close.

In order to give some support to the text, scientists quotes has been used, like Dawn Vaughn, a biology doctoral student at the University of Washington's Friday Harbor Laboratories. This is a nice way of increasing interest and reading level (Using technical words)

Other characteristic of Clara Moskowitz’s text, is interchanging scientific information with description, in order to expose how the life of this sand dollar larvae is. She also describes bit information of its predator: Fishes.

She is using the pyramidal structure of information: First, the most important information, and the less information at the end.

Argumentative Text: Against Unlimited Re-election

In This text, I’ll expose my reasons against an Unlimited re-election.

In the last months, a very important topic has been discussed in Venezuela: Unlimited re-election. People who support it, says that is more democratic, because candidates could postulate themselves anytime, and, as a consequence, voters may vote for them.

But, my opinion is different. Democracy is not only voting and choosing, Democracy is the equilibrium between freedom and equality. One of the main principles of this philosophy, is to alternate power. Power can become corrupt any person. And this can be avoided alternating power.

Even if several Countries in West Europe possesses this kind of principle, this choice was used only for two consecutive periods in the last decades. Also, political culture is very different between Latin America and Europe.

But my main reason against this: I believe in a Country project (Political project). In democracy, the government should create consensus: Establishing dialog between all different groups in the society. As consequence of dialog, a country creates his own project, and every government (or better, every president) must follow this direction.

If every president follows the route of consensus, any unlimited re-election won’t be necessary.

Mi learning process

Mi learning process with Lissette Lunar has been very interactive. We have been using the internet and also writing in this web blog.
I think my english is improving. But, I need some more practice if I want to be better.

Other activity I enjoyed, was watching "Lock, stock and two smoking barrels" movie. It was a nice way for understanding english by the context.
